Accident, Sickness and Unemployment (ASU) cover is a special insuranceavailable for individuals, or for couples with a joint mortgage or to just cover ones income. The key feature is that if a claim is made, the benefit is paid normally for a maximum of 12 months.

That’s because the purpose of ASU is simply to provide short-term emergency protection if you are made redundant, have an accident, or become ill. The restricted level of cover is reflected in the cost.
